It enables high-speed communication and power supply via 2-wire-cable and is therefore suitable for field-level devices such as measuring sensors. Any type of industrial Ethernet protocol or standard Ethernet application can be combined with Ethernet-APL. Endress+Hauser has launched PROFINET instruments as the first Ethernet-APL ready devices.
